The Renovation Is Done. Now the Real Cleaning Starts.
You survived the renovation. The new kitchen is beautiful, the bathroom remodel turned out exactly as you planned, or the basement finally got the finishing it needed. The contractors have packed up and gone home.
And then you look around at what they left behind.
Construction dust is not like regular household dust. It is fine, heavy, and it settles into every surface, every crack, every corner. Drywall compound, saw dust, adhesive residue, and grout haze do not wipe up easily with a household sponge. Getting a renovated space genuinely clean takes specific techniques and the right equipment.
Pam And A Bucket provides post-renovation cleaning throughout West Michigan, including Muskegon, Norton Shores, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and surrounding communities.
Why Post-Renovation Cleaning Is Different
Standard cleaning addresses what accumulates during normal living. Post-renovation cleaning is a different category of work:
Construction dust is everywhere. Fine particles from cutting, sanding, and drilling travel through the entire house during a renovation — not just the room being worked on. HVAC systems circulate it. It settles on top of everything: cabinet contents, blinds, furniture, the inside of closets.
Multiple types of residue. A renovation leaves behind not just dust but also paint drips, adhesive residue, grout haze, caulk smears, and sticker residue from fixtures and windows. Each requires a different approach.
Delicate new surfaces. Your new countertops, tile, or flooring can be scratched by construction grit if it is not removed properly before regular foot traffic and use begins. Post-renovation cleaning gets the grit out before it has a chance to damage what you just installed.
Hidden accumulation. Dust collects in HVAC vents, on window blinds, on top of high shelves and ceiling fans, and inside cabinets that were left open during work. A surface-level clean will not catch it.

When to Schedule
Post-renovation cleaning should happen after all the work is complete and the contractors are out — not in between stages. The timeline depends on your renovation, but we generally recommend booking your post-renovation clean for 1–2 days after the final contractor visit, which gives any remaining fine dust time to fully settle before we come through.
For major renovations, we can also do an interim clean if the project is phased and you need to use part of the space during construction.
