Spring Cleaning 2022

Spring Cleaning - Now's the time!

Now’s the time to get your spring cleaning projects started and completed.

Just a few days left of ‘ol man winter! Is it too early to start spring cleaning? The simple answer is no. There are many reasons to start on your spring cleaning “early”. Really, anytime of year is a good time to get your house “spring cleaned”.

Once spring is officially here and the cold weather is officially gone, we will all pretty much be outdoors enjoying what Spring naturally brings. The outdoor activities like gardening, yard work, kids playing in the yard, and reading a book on the patio – they are bound to happen. The warmer air is enough to get anyone outside. It’s good to get the spring cleaning done early, so you don’t have to worry about it later when many more options and tasks are on your plate.

Pam And A Bucket is here to help guide you through your Spring Cleaning needs!

Vacation Rental Opening

Do you have an AirBnB or VRBO (or similar Vacation Rental) property? Let’s say you don’t have any bookings until May or even June… It’s still not too early to get the winter grime out and refresh everything. During the winter, even if your home is closed for the season, the inside of your kitchen cabinets likely need to be cleaned. Spiders make their way indoors to make webs. Other pests come inside for warmth and their carcasses litter the edges of your floors. Dust accumulates. By the time your first booking comes along for the season, you’ll just need a touch up cleaning if you get the deep cleaning done now.

For The DIY Person

If you’re a DIY kind of person, you may want to do your spring cleaning yourself. Here’s a few simple tips to get it done. And we have a FREEBIE copy of our spring cleaning checklist – just contact us to request a copy!

  1. Declutter – get rid of items that are too small, no longer function, or excess that’s not necessary.
  2. Organize – Put things away in a location that makes sense for functionality and convenience. Everything should have their place. If you need help with this you can hire Pam And A Bucket to work alongside you to get this task accomplished.

Spring Cleaning is Important for your Health - Mental and Physical

Let’s talk about another key point here on why it’s good to start early. First and foremost, having a clean home is great for your mental and physical well being. Scientific studies have shown that people who have a clean home are much happier and productive. If your home is cluttered or dirty, it can be difficult to focus, it’s distracting and can also be stressful.

Pam And A Bucket has been offering what we call a Deep Cleaning (aka Spring Cleaning) to our clients for 12 years . We have a full list of cleaning tiers we offer to help make your cleaning tasks much easier. We do the heavy stuff and leave the day to day cleaning (like dishes and laundry) to you.

DIY Cleaning Supplies

On another note, we’ve all been experiencing shortages of supplies. We have seen price hikes in almost all categories, even the cleaning supplies. Cleaning supplies have been in short supply for a lot of the items many of us use day to day in our homes, and we have found many people have tried supplementing their go-to stuff with other products. Some things you can make homemade. Here’s a few money saving DIY cleaning supply recipes that you can easily make at home with things you likely already have on hand:

1 tsp baking soda

¼ tsp liquid dish soap

3-5 drops of your choice of essential oil (optional)

Swirl it all together in a spray bottle
